Recent Initiatives
Healthy Nutrition Demonstration
On 8th November 2024, the 15th batch of Mount Zion College of Nursing, known as
the “Radiant Rubies,” organized a Healthy Nutrition Event. Students prepared
nutritious dishes tailored to specific health conditions like diabetes, anemia, and cardiac health, incorporating BMI and caloric
value calculations. This hands-on initiative highlighted the role of balanced
nutrition in disease prevention and health promotion.
Community Engagement: Founders’ Day Health Screening
On Founders’ Day, Mount Zion College of Nursing conducted a Diabetes,
Hypertension, and Stroke Screening and Awareness Program. The event underscored
preventive healthcare and educated participants on managing these conditions
effectively.
Empowering Leaders through SALT 2024
The college hosted the Student Advocacy and Leadership Training (SALT) 2024
for Zone 11 in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu State Branch of TNAI. Nursing
students from 21 institutions explored leadership development, advocacy skills,
and effective healthcare communication during this impactful program.
Major Events
XI Graduation Day
The college celebrated its 11th Graduation Day on 2nd April 2024 for the Class
of 2023. Presided over by Mrs. Florence Jayabarathan,
Chairperson of Mount Zion Educational Institutions, 46 graduates received their
degrees, marking the culmination of their hard work and dedication.
XVI Annual Sports Meet
On 16th July 2024, the Annual Sports Meet was a vibrant showcase of talent and
sportsmanship. Students excelled in 18 extracurricular and 22 sports events,
making the event a grand success.
Fresher’s Day Celebration
On 25th November 2024, Mount Zion College of Nursing welcomed its 16th batch,
“Joyful Generous Topaz,” with enthusiasm and warmth during the Fresher’s Day
celebration.
Christmas Worship
On 19th December 2024, the college celebrated Christmas Worship under the theme
“We Are His Children,” spreading joy and togetherness across the campus.
Pongal Celebration 2025
On 10th January 2025, the college celebrated Pongal under the theme “Thamilan Who Lived with Nature,” embracing Tamil
culture and heritage.
